The Sticky Tar Baby Issue

I was reading online that a group of representatives from the NAACP were scheduling a meeting with Congressman Doug Lamborn concerning his use of the term “tar baby” when referring to President Obama’s policies.   While I think this is an opportunity for an "umpteenth" explanation by Mr. Lamborn, I think I would take a different approach to this issue.   For example, here’s a possible script for the meeting:

NAACP Rep.:  Mr. Lamborn, why did you make such a racist comment concerning President Obama?

Mr. Lamborn:  For the one thousandth time, I did not make a racist statement concerning the President.   This term refers to a sticky situation.

NAACP Rep.:  Mr. Lamborn, how could you be so naïve?

Mr. Lamborn:  I am not naïve, but think with black unemployment at over 18%, black crime rates skyrocketing and the like, I think we should be talking about those issues instead of my comment.

NAACP Rep.:  Mr. Lamborn, why are you trying to shift the topic?

Mr. Lamborn:  I am not trying to shift anything but I am trying to show that you are here for the wrong reason…

NAACP Rep.:  (rather shocked) What do you mean by such a statement?

Mr. Lamborn:  Let’s settle my tar baby comment right now!…If any of you have heard a black person use the “N” word towards another black person and never spoke against it, don’t lecture me on race relations.  If you standby why rappers use all kinds of rancid racial epithets then don’t lecture me on racism…

I am not prejudiced towards anyone, nor am I a racist!  I am however very upset we are forgetting whose policies are ruining our country.

Now, let’s talk about how we can help this country to get jobs for the people that Mr. Obama has disappointed.

Why our Double A Rating Isn't that Bad Based on Battery Ratings

I was watching news reports of our triple A rating being lowered to double A.  I explained to my kids that this is like losing a personal credit rating.  They understood personal credit ratings but could not apply it to a country.   For as long as they have been alive, the U. S. has held the highest credit rating.

As we were completing our Economics discussion, one of my kids asked why I were so concerned.  His stated that since a double A battery was bigger than a triple A battery, doesn’t that mean we are better than before?  I immediately closed down the discussion as I began to wonder if the President doesn’t feel the same way.

In 2008, my cousin and I were discussing what would happen if Barak Obama became president.  I told her that if he became president and did what he said he would do, he would ruin our economy and polarize race relations.   I don’t claim to be a prophet but I believe my words have more than become true.  This man’s left wing ideology makes tea partiers seem like wafflers.
