Thieves Stealing from Theives

Someone once said, “What goes around comes around.” This statement is no more true than recent revelations of stuff being stolen from occupy protestors. Think about it, these folk believe income should be "redistributed" from the rich to the poor. Then they protest when packs of thieves actually try to…for lack of a better term, do what they are doing.

These protestors believe they are being stolen from by the “fatcats” then they complain when someone does the same thing to them. Welcome to the wonderful world of reality!

To make things even more interesting, the “fatcats” on Wall Street who gave millions to candidate Obama, are now complaining that the Dems are biting the hand that fed them. What a paradox: The protestors are having their stuff stolen while the “fatcats” are complaining that they are being demonized by the same people, or surrogates thereof, they put into office.

Well boys and girls, fact can sometimes be stranger than fiction.

I posit what I hope will be pearls of wisdom for both sides of this real life drama: Protestors need to see that they are being used by rich puppeteers who could care less about them or their perceived cause. They are in reality, “useful idiots” as some once said. The Wall Street crowd need to realize that you get what you pay for. Mr. Obama, in a rare moment of truth, told them that “we need to redistribute the wealth.” I wonder whose wealth they thought he was talking about?

We are at a crossroads and people need to realize that “the king has no clothes” and that the Democrats are running a “naked reverse” on us. If they succeed, the touchdown will be scored against capitalism and our way of life will be the loser. Wake up before it’s too late and give our money to those who want to help increase wealth, decrease taxes and allow each person to rise to their potential.

Need I say more?

Dear Mr. Holder

Well, it seems things are getting tougher for Attorney General Eric Holder as increasing evidence is mounting to show that he did know about “Fast and Furious” sooner instead of later. Even if he didn’t know until later, he is at minimum guilty of incompetence, also an offense worthy of firing, in most businesses. Also, even if Bush did the same thing, how can Holder hide behind Bush’s stupidity when his administration constantly claims we are in this economic mess because of guess who? Bush! In an effort to help Mr. Issa save taxpayers money, I recommend Mr. Issa send a letter similar to this one to Mr. Holder:

Dear Mr. Holder:

After weeks of listening to you and others testify, I would like to make you an offer that I hope you won’t refuse. I know how easy it is to forget things sometimes but I find it very hard to 1) believe you did not understand my question about “Fast and Furious” a few weeks ago and 2) believe that those working under you did not keep you abreast with this mess.

I want to first say that I understand the embarrassment of being caught in a lie. Former allies such as former Representative Duke Cunningham, who is now in jail, was not even allowed to attend his dear mother’s funeral after his conviction. Moreover, with the evidence I now have, I believe you will be seen in somewhat of an unfavorable light. In case you were wondering, I AM NOT BLUFFING!

Therefore, I strongly encourage you to resign forthwith from your present office and I will pull the subpoena that you received today. Should you not do this, well, I will leave it to your imagination.

You have twenty-four hours to consider this gracious offer.

Sincerely,

Darrell Issa

The Reality Behind the Solyndra Debacle

Normally, I use four or five paragraphs to say what I could say with less words. Hopefully, this will not be the case in my view of the Solyndra case. You remember the Solyndra case, it’s the one where people from the Obama Administration gave $500 million to a company rejected by the previous Bush Administration because they were deemed incapable of doing the job. However, Mr. Obama was so anxious to get green jobs going that poor judgement was used in giving this now defunct company government money.

Well, guess what? Someone in the Obama Administration, obviously he nor anyone else knew anything about it…just like they knew nothing of the “fast and furious” gunrunning situation, gave these guys enough money to run several families for decades.

Clear and simple, here is my take on the green jobs issue:
Solyndra got the green and we got jobbed!

The Sticky Tar Baby Issue

I was reading online that a group of representatives from the NAACP were scheduling a meeting with Congressman Doug Lamborn concerning his use of the term “tar baby” when referring to President Obama’s policies.   While I think this is an opportunity for an "umpteenth" explanation by Mr. Lamborn, I think I would take a different approach to this issue.   For example, here’s a possible script for the meeting:

NAACP Rep.:  Mr. Lamborn, why did you make such a racist comment concerning President Obama?

Mr. Lamborn:  For the one thousandth time, I did not make a racist statement concerning the President.   This term refers to a sticky situation.

NAACP Rep.:  Mr. Lamborn, how could you be so naïve?

Mr. Lamborn:  I am not naïve, but think with black unemployment at over 18%, black crime rates skyrocketing and the like, I think we should be talking about those issues instead of my comment.

NAACP Rep.:  Mr. Lamborn, why are you trying to shift the topic?

Mr. Lamborn:  I am not trying to shift anything but I am trying to show that you are here for the wrong reason…

NAACP Rep.:  (rather shocked) What do you mean by such a statement?

Mr. Lamborn:  Let’s settle my tar baby comment right now!…If any of you have heard a black person use the “N” word towards another black person and never spoke against it, don’t lecture me on race relations.  If you standby why rappers use all kinds of rancid racial epithets then don’t lecture me on racism…

I am not prejudiced towards anyone, nor am I a racist!  I am however very upset we are forgetting whose policies are ruining our country.

Now, let’s talk about how we can help this country to get jobs for the people that Mr. Obama has disappointed.

Why our Double A Rating Isn't that Bad Based on Battery Ratings

I was watching news reports of our triple A rating being lowered to double A.  I explained to my kids that this is like losing a personal credit rating.  They understood personal credit ratings but could not apply it to a country.   For as long as they have been alive, the U. S. has held the highest credit rating.

As we were completing our Economics discussion, one of my kids asked why I were so concerned.  His stated that since a double A battery was bigger than a triple A battery, doesn’t that mean we are better than before?  I immediately closed down the discussion as I began to wonder if the President doesn’t feel the same way.

In 2008, my cousin and I were discussing what would happen if Barak Obama became president.  I told her that if he became president and did what he said he would do, he would ruin our economy and polarize race relations.   I don’t claim to be a prophet but I believe my words have more than become true.  This man’s left wing ideology makes tea partiers seem like wafflers.

The Ghost of Inspector Columbo Interrogates Attorney General (AG) Eric Holder Concerning Operation "Fast and Furious”

The bedraggled apparition of Inspector Columbo meets with AG Holder concerning the “Fast and Furious” operation recently discovered by most of us.  The inspector has his favorite cigar along with the wrinkled trench coat that many of us grew to love.  The setting is in the living room of AG Holder as he sleeps on his recliner.

“Mr…I’m sorry Attorney General Holder, I just have a few questions about the operation…I think it’s called “Fast and Furious.”    Thank you very much…can I call you Mr. Holder?   Thank you, thank you.  First, Mr. Holder, how did you name it that?   Ok, I understand, it’s classified…”

“By the way, my wife really enjoyed your confirmation process.   She said you really stood up to those politicians…Oh, please forgive me, I’ll I’ll get back to my questions.”  Then Columbo spots an autographed A-Rod baseball on Holder’s mantle.

“Is this an original A-Rod autographed baseball?”   Mr. Holder nods nervously as tells how he got it.”   Columbo tosses the ball in the air as he turns towards Holder…one eye nearly closed.

“Is it true that over a thousand assault weapons were allowed to be sold to Mexicans and subsequently made their way into Mexico? “Holder nods as he takes a deep breath.   “Oh really over 1,800, I’m sorry, as he scribbles notes on a tablet, you know I always want to get the facts straight…you too huh?”

Holder sits up in his chair and pushes aside a congressional subpoena, as he wipes his eyes wondering if this is a dream.

“Now Mr. Holder, I understand, you planned to track the guns using electronic tracking devices?    Obviously the guns were not real because…   Oh they were real!...Weeelll, weren’t you afraid they might be used to kill people?”  Holder slowly shakes his head.”   Columbo gazes at him, “You were!” nodding up and down, as he picks up the subpoena and begins to read it.

Holding his head with both hands, “Now let me get this straight, you allowed over 1,000 I’m sorry 1,800 guns were sold to heavens know who with the intention of tracking the guns with an electronic gizmo?  Again, did anyone ever think that someone might be killed by one of these guns?”

“Well, I’m sure some renegade agent or lawyer in some government department authorized this ridiculous operation, right? You know, some young lawyer who couldn’t tell his…from a hole in the ground?”

As Holder fully wakes up, he smiles for the first time as he wonders who he could get to admit to coming up with this “Fast and Furious” idea.

Columbo looks at him, smiles and says, “Well then you don’t have a thing to worry about because these runaway workers sometimes get carried away…   By the way, before the clock strikes midnight, you will be visited by a panel of three congressmen.   Be sure to tell them about the lawyer who made this foolish mistake.”

Columbo smiles, winks and then disappears into a puff of his cigar smoke.

Potential Rationalization Concerning Guns Sold to Drug Cartels

Recently, The Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) was criticized concerning a sting operation that went bad.    Someone in the governmental hierarchy came up with the brilliant idea to sell deadly firearms to Mexican drug cartel members and then try to trace them using GPS devices embedded in the stocks of the weapons.   Well, the operation went bad and some speculate that one of our border agents was killed by one of the weapons in addition to others in Mexico.

When asked by a reporter about the operation, the President said rightly that he knew nothing about it.  However, since this thing won’t go away, I suspect that Mr. Obama will eventually be forced by circumstances to make a speech on this issue.   His speech may sound something like this:
My fellow Americans.   Recently, I have learned that the ATF created a program whereby guns were sold to Mexican drug cartel members in an effort to track their movement.  While I knew nothing about this operation, I can’t know everything, I believe that this operation will help curtail one of our nations biggest problems, too many guns.
To begin with, the guns sold to cartel members kept guns off the streets of America.  Guns in Mexico cannot be in the U. S. at the same time.  Secondly, these weapons helped us to develop GPS technology that is on the cutting edge of tracking devices.  This technology will eventually help us to save thousands of American lives by placing GPS devices on all guns sold in America.    I will sign a Presidential Order forthwith requiring that all guns made in America have GPS devices on placed on them.  In addition to tracking the weapons, the GPS devices will be very helpful in finding lost hunters and wayward criminals.  I am even considering a policy in which the GPS number will match the person owning the gun.  Thirdly, the weapons sold greatly increased the revenue of the local economies in the towns where the guns were sold.  This unwitting infusion of well-needed money into the southwest economies will help stimulate their private sector by increasing money to other industries that will supplement the part of our economy.
As Americans, we must take advantage of these opportunities to “think outside the box” and exercise American ingenuity and technology.  On behalf of all of our citizens, I want to thank the ATF for their unique strategies in protecting our borders and in developing ways to curb the proliferation of too many firearms.
Thank you and good evening!

The NBA (National Basketball Association) Goes Politically Correct

While watching a recent tournament game, I was shocked by a commercial denouncing a young man who said a certain action was “gay.”  A black NBA player came on the screen to decry the young man’s comment.   Seemingly, the NBA equates being black, which has always been a genetic trait, with being a homosexual, which for the most part is a choice.  Even if it is not a choice, it is changeable.  The NBA, which is a collection of mostly financially affluent players, is stepping up to help protect a group of people who are, for the most part, not exactly paupers themselves.

I have played basketball most of my life and have long enjoyed watching the talented athletes of the NBA.    However, I came away from the commercial with some questions about the seeming support of the NBA of this, until years ago, aberrant lifestyle.  For example…

1-Does the NBA believe being a homosexual is the same as being black?
2-Does the NBA support the gay rights cause?
3-How did it choose this cause when there are so many others (prolife movement, tornado relief etc.) out there, that need their help?

Implicit in my discussion is the view that no one should be assaulted for their sexual preference, skin color or any other reason.  However, the criteria for civil rights should not be the same as sexual preference.  I have seen many former homosexuals but never a former black.
I know what it is to suffer discrimination.  Sadly, since many of the players come from mostly liberal institutions, the indoctrinational seeds of past decades are finally beginning to sprout.  As a result, in a few years, lifestyles once seen as injurious to blacks will ride on the same civil rights bus with equal legitimacy.  This would be a tragedy of exponential proportion.

Will someone please call a foul on the NBA for unnecessary support?

Hate Crime or Love Crime

Today, I watched a horrible video of a woman being brutally beaten in a MacDonalds Restaurant by two women. It seemed that no one was willing to keep her from being battered by these two female animals. Earlier that day, I heard a local district attorney on a radio talk show bragging about how he’d just sent some men to jail for beating a black man as a racial hate crime because the men offenders were white and the victim black. He went on to explain that the men were charged with a hate crime because the offenders blurted racial slurs as they beat the man.

As I watched the video, I noticed that two black women were beating a white woman. Then I began to wonder if this too was a hate crime?

When will we understand that we are ultimately part of the human race in spite of the hue of our pigment? I do not believe there should be such as thing as a hate crime because there is no such thing as a love crime! People should be punished for crimes against fellow humans regardless of the color of their skin. Or, to paraphrase the words of an old song, “will this madness ever cease, are we men or are we beasts?”

You decide!

That Dark Ghetto In The Valley

One of Ronald Reagan’s most memorable speeches talked about American being that shining city on a hill. Mr. Reagan believed in American exceptionalism and greatness. He believed that each one of us contained the ability to pull himself up by his boot straps through ingenuity, smart work and sheer determination.

I bought into Mr. Reagan’s views and went on to become the first person in my family to finish college and to get a post graduate degree. I went on to author several books and dozens of articles on topics of Americanism, inspiration and ways to help others.

Fast forward to a speech delivered by President Obama in which he discussed how his parents and grandparents had to get government help to make it. I did not feel a bit inspired but felt pulled down by his view of reality. I believe that anyone who does not try to encourage me to stand up on my own actually pushes me down. My dreams go past having just enough to get by to the belief that anyone can go beyond the positions espoused by Mr. Obama.

The Great Society did little to inspire towards greatness. Other liberal programs constantly hurt those who they say they want to help. One person once said, “if you give a person a fish, you can feed him today, if you teach him how to fish, he can feed himself.” I am afraid that our government has been giving out some many fish that is it running out of fish money. Sadly, many of the present administration’s policies are beginning to smell like fish.

The shining city has been replaced by the dark ghetto. Unless we do all we can to return to the place of inspiring greatness, even that ghetto will be repossessed by some government lending agency. Let us reach for the stars instead of becoming satisfied with the squalor of mediocrity.

The Choice: A Screeching Angel or A Smooth Talking Politician?

I was recently talking to a friend about the unfolding political climate in our country. I told him that I am concerned about the direction and economic condition of our once great country. He replied that the conservative movement doesn’t have any viable candidates and he went on to talk about some of the potential candidates and their speaking ability. He specifically spoke about former Governor Palin’s screeching voice. He said it really bothered him. While I did not totally agree with him, I inquired as to whether he would prefer the smooth talking Mr. Obama and all his policies? My friend rather shyly agreed that he could not take any more of our smooth talking president, yet he still complained about Governor Palin.

After reflecting about this conversation, I came up with some thoughts: Americans have become addicted to style rather than substance. As a result, we have lost the ability or desire to think critically on issues. Objectivity has been replaced by our senseless acceptance of mostly liberal socialism. We seem to have a proclivity for accepting a smooth spoken line bereft of any logic or common sense instead of policies that work.

Aiding this slide into an intellectual abyss is our education system. Many public school teachers are arguably liberal or were trained in liberal institutions, our kids are being indoctrinated in liberalism instead of being taught to read and do Mathematics. Consequently, they vote perennially for a system that pays their salaries and promotes the liberal way of life.

Contrary to my friend’s point of view, I would vote for Governor Palin not because of her tone of voice but for her deep love for this nation. I believe she embodies views that made us great and will keep up great. Those views include self-reliance, thrift and a love for God. I hope those of us who can still recognize substance over style will do likewise!

Blacks and Abortion: A Genocidal Reality

I recently read an article about a pro-life billboard being removed from public display New York City. The billboard showed a little black girl with the statement alluding to the danger of being in the womb for black babies. Research shows that over fifty per- cent of blacks in New York get abortions; nationwide, the number has hovered between twenty to thirty per-cent. Had the KKK visited such violence upon blacks, there would be an outcry rivaling that of 10,000 super bowl stadiums. This has resulted in thousands of Martin Luther Kings and George Washington Carvers being burned via saline solution and gouged to death in their mother’s wombs before they had a chance at greatness.
One would think black political leaders would support the message of such a billboard. However, the firestorm started by the article showed black leaders as de facto Judas Goats (the goat that leads other goats to the slaughter but suffers no harm to himself) of their race. According to the article Rev. Al Sharpton and Council Woman Letitia James came out against the billboard! Now let me get this straight, abortion ends the life of blacks before birth, few would doubt that. However, leaders who purport to love blacks think this billboard is a controversial idea. Here are some questions that came to mind as I read it:

- Do these leaders understand what abortion does to a baby?
- Do they realize that abortion kills more blacks than all acknowledged racist organizations?
- Who are they beholding to as they criticize this billboard?

As I wrote this last question, I thought about a part of the article which stated that Ms James was working in concert with “moveon.org.” Sadly, the pro choice views of this organization do little to stem the tide of black genocide caused by abortion.

Sadly, truth has been abandoned and replaced by political correctness and progressivism. The majority of blacks perennially vote for Democrats; yet, liberal democratic policies continue to decimate black generations unborn. I believe that in two decades, as a result of abortion, blacks will become less influential and eventually a non-entity on the American political scene. This will happen because their nationally recognized leaders supported policies which diminished their numbers.

     When will this madness cease?
