Over the past years, mainstream black recognized leaders have cried racism on everything from whites dressing with baggy pants to blacks not being allowed to enter certain business establishments. Most recently, a black professor’s arrest received presidential level attention when the professor invoked the “R” word.
Sadly, while all this was going on, virtually nothing was said about abortion, which kills more blacks than the top seven causes of death.
Data as reported in “Health, United States, 2008,” by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Center for Health Statistics, March 2009.
Page 214 lists the leading causes of death for African Americans in 2005. The top seven causes of death are listed below, totaling 198,385 fatalities.
1……….Diseases of heart—74,159
2……….Malignant neoplasms—63,165
3……….Cerebrovascular diseases—17,541
4……….Unintentional injuries—13,652
5……….Diabetes mellitus—12,970
6……….Homicide—8,669
7……….Chronic lower respiratory diseases—8,229
Total: 198, 385
(Link to report. Scroll down,http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/hus/hus08.pdf#030)
While blacks were dying from these natural diseases, abortion killed more of them than all these diseases combined according to a cnsnews.com news article entitled, Abortion Kills More Black Americans Than the Seven Leading Causes of Death Combined, Says CDC Data. The report went on to say, “Abortion killed at least 203,991 blacks in the 36 states and two cities (New York City and the District of Columbia) that reported abortions by race in 2005, according to the CDC. During that same year, according to the CDC, a total of 198,385 blacks nationwide died from heart disease, cancer, strokes, accidents, diabetes, homicide, and chronic lower respiratory diseases combined. These were the seven leading causes of death for black Americans that year.”
Liberals have long used civil rights laws to validate everything from gay rights to abortion rights. Ironically each of these rights groups have helped to decimate black culture and population growth. Unwittingly, liberalism has done more damage to blacks than the Ku Klux Klan (KKK). While liberals decry people like Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and the radical right, their policies actually do more harm to blacks than a bevy of Robert Byrd’s old posse.
Why aren’t black leaders questioning the validity of these facts? Why do are black communities have abortion facilities conveniently located in their midst? Why don’t black churches demand an investigation against this scourge against black seed?
I SAY IT IS RACISM!
I welcome your comments.

Racism
I read recently of several instances of incidents that could be called racist. A well-known sports announcer made a reference to the term “taco” concerning a Hispanic race car driver. In another case, students in a high school in Minnesota dressed with baggy clothing and do-rags on a certain theme day. In another case, the arrest of a prominent black academic caused no small amount of concern and resulted in a beer summit at, of all places, the Whitehouse…there’s some irony there when you consider…[I’m not going there].
As I pondered this issue, I came up with some thoughts of racism in America. While my thoughts may not be exhaustive, maybe exhausting to some, they reflect realism concerning this perennial issue:
1-Whether we like it or not, racism will always be with us. No government or educational program can prevent people from hating others based on visible or cultural differences. Prejudice was here in Bible times and it will be here when ‘the last trumpet sounds.’
2-Racism is a two way street. Many blacks feel that they are the only targets of racism. Well, to paraphrase that old sold from Porgy and Bess, “It ain’t necessarily so…” Blacks, or any other race, can be prejudiced also.
3- Racism is an equal opportunity destroyer. It is a cancer on the souls of men that is often spread to future generations without them even knowing why they have the sickness. Sadly, prejudice pervades culture and religion. There are interracial and intra-racial expressions of prejudice.
With all of these views, how then can racial prejudice be destroyed? The answer is that it cannot but each of us can do our part to prevent the spread of this cancer:
1-Give others the benefit of the doubt.
2-Refuse to judge without gathering the facts.
3-“Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
I welcome your comments on this issue.

Obama v Fox News: A Ridiculous and Unnecessary Fight
I have been watching with a certain degree of curiosity, the attack on Fox News by the Obama Whitehouse. I have long thought that the mainstream or “driveby” media has been a de facto public relations tool for liberalism and the democratic party. However, the recent salvo against Fox went even further than I thought the Obama administration would go. In a sense, Chicago politics goes to Washington.
Then recently, the mainstream media insisted that Fox be included in the media pool during an interview with pay roll czar, Mr. Feinberg. Bill O’Reilly and Bernard Goldberg discussed the issue giving the impression that the mainstream media was acting with some degree of nobility by insisting that Fox be included. However, I take a different view on what they did.
I think the liberal media is beginning to recognize that one day, the Whitehouse may decide to “dis’ them. The late Dietrich Bonhoeffer saw this paradigm during World War II when he talked about there not being anyone to stand up for him after Hitler had eliminated various people groups. This administration has a vitriolic streak that promises to hit any enemy back “twice as hard” if offended? What if only they would use the same energy to solve economic, healthcare and international problems as they use to demonize Fox? They must realize that Fox is here to stay and that they may be a comma on a page of history in two or three years.
Another thing, the same media moguls who insisted that Fox be invited to the party must also realize that their silence or lateness in reporting the ACORN story and the real Tea Party stories does little to endear them to us. So, Mr. ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and the rest…thanks for helping Fox but you would do well to get on board and recognize that the Whitehouse will use you until you are no longer a “willing accomplice” to their purposes.

Cross Dressing at Morehouse
Someone once said that ‘...bad company corrupts good morals.’ The cross dressing situation at Morehouse College is a textbook case. Liberalism has done great harm to the black culture and black society as a whole. I remember reading an article in Ebony Magazine years ago that detailed the woes of single black women. Many complained of the lack of black bachelors because many were either in prison, on drugs or in the homosexual lifestyle. One might conclude that homosexuality was an impediment to black romance. However, with the advent of political correctness, blacks and mainstream black leadership seem to embrace [no pun intended] homosexuality.
The crux of the issue is that homosexuality has been given civil rights status with virtually the same weight as biological pigment. Moreover, it gives the same privileges thereof, a travesty of moral and legal justice. To paraphrase a portion of a song sung at the funeral of Dr. Martin Luther King, ‘…will this madness ever cease, are we men or are we beasts?’
So the next time you are walking across the Morehouse campus and see a nice looking girl, don’t be so sure…looks can be deceiving. To turn a phrase, that character may not have much content.
When will blacks realize what liberalism is doing to them? Hopefully sooner instead of later.

A Front Porch Perspective on Writing Politicians
Well, the front porch is a nice place to sit today. The wind is blowing through the yard as the trees change color. The peace of this tranquil setting disturbed by the rustling of the newspaper. Only after I parouse the events transpiring in our nation is my heart deeply disturbed.
We are spending more money than we are taking in. For the first time, there is a discussion that some nations want to go to a different economic standard than the dollar. This is understandable with our out of control spending habits. If we don't tell our politicians that they cannot continue to spend like this, we will be partially responsible for our economic demise. If we remain quiet, our grandchildren will be born in debt and as slaves to our politicians foolishness. Let's get going...here's what you can do:
1-Make a list of the contact data of your local politicians
2-Do your homework and write out exactly how you feel on various issues
3-Contact them by writing (I prefer snail mail) and/or call them and tell them how you feel. Be courteous yet firm if your views vary from theirs.
4-Keep them in prayer
5-Vote (Validate Opinions Through Elections) your convictions
Well, I gotta go...it's getting hot on the front porch

A Letter to the NFL Commish...
Dear Mr. Goodell,
I was so disgusted to learn that you decided to prevent Rush Limbaugh from being part of the purchase of the St. Louis Rams. While I know that the partners actually dropped him, I was shocked with the political influence on the NFL from the comments of Demaurice Smith. His depiction of Mr. Limbaugh as a person of hate is appalling and a real cheap shot. In reality, the policies Mr. Smith’s party kills, yes kills, more blacks via abortion than Mr. Limbaugh has ever seen. I have listened to Mr. Limbaugh since the 1990’s and find him to be an inspirational example of how to get ahead in this country. My view of the NFL has been greatly tarnished by this travesty of justice.

A Political Cartoon in Words
I can’t draw a straight line with a ruler. My definition of close enough for government work is ‘measuring something with a micrometer, marking it with a piece of chalk and cutting it with an axe.’ That why I humbly submit my idea for a political cartoon hoping that some of you might actually draw this:
In this picture, President Obama is driving a bus with Pelosi, Reid and fellow dems sitting behind him. Words such as “healthcare,” capntrade, “ Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” adorn the graffitied bus. As the bus approaches a cliff Pelosi and Reid can be heard yelling “Hope and Change, Hope and Change!” Both sides of the road are lined with Repulicans looking aghast at the impending disaster.
Sadly, this is what is happening to our country. The problem is that the fortunes of the American people are also riding on that bus. Think on these things.
