Obama v Fox News: A Ridiculous and Unnecessary Fight

I have been watching with a certain degree of curiosity, the attack on Fox News by the Obama Whitehouse. I have long thought that the mainstream or “driveby” media has been a de facto public relations tool for liberalism and the democratic party. However, the recent salvo against Fox went even further than I thought the Obama administration would go. In a sense, Chicago politics goes to Washington.
Then recently, the mainstream media insisted that Fox be included in the media pool during an interview with pay roll czar, Mr. Feinberg. Bill O’Reilly and Bernard Goldberg discussed the issue giving the impression that the mainstream media was acting with some degree of nobility by insisting that Fox be included. However, I take a different view on what they did.
I think the liberal media is beginning to recognize that one day, the Whitehouse may decide to “dis’ them. The late Dietrich Bonhoeffer saw this paradigm during World War II when he talked about there not being anyone to stand up for him after Hitler had eliminated various people groups. This administration has a vitriolic streak that promises to hit any enemy back “twice as hard” if offended? What if only they would use the same energy to solve economic, healthcare and international problems as they use to demonize Fox? They must realize that Fox is here to stay and that they may be a comma on a page of history in two or three years.
Another thing, the same media moguls who insisted that Fox be invited to the party must also realize that their silence or lateness in reporting the ACORN story and the real Tea Party stories does little to endear them to us. So, Mr. ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and the rest…thanks for helping Fox but you would do well to get on board and recognize that the Whitehouse will use you until you are no longer a “willing accomplice” to their purposes.
