An Open Letter to President Obama

Dear Mr. President:
First of all, I want you to know that I was raised in a democrat household and many of my relatives still vote the party line. Unlike me, they see government as a type of nanny for survival. Many of them enjoyed your recent State of The Union monologue. While I still love them, I do not love your policies and where you are taking our country. Here’s why I don’t vote like my family members:

1-I believe government healthcare will ruin our economy. I believe the private sector is better positioned to run healthcare. The government is a poor business manager. Over the past decade, we have gotten nothing but deficits from our government.

2-Your policy of trying the terrorists in New York is not good. I believe the military tribunals would do a better job in a much safer venue. Contrary to what many say, we are in a war and not some man caused whatever. These people want to kill us and any coddling of them with legal gymnastics will not change their opinion of us.

3-I believe the recent ruling by the Supreme Court to allow businesses to give in political campaigns was the right one. Your may not have known it but a law exists that prohibits foreign governments from giving directly or indirectly into U. S. campaigns. The issue is will we regard this law, just as some have [for example] immigration laws?

4-I believe it was wrong for your party to give Senators Nelson and Landrieu special consideration to vote for their votes. I know you said you knew nothing about it but you would definitely benefit from it. Your party has given many of us a bad taste for politicians and has mobilized many of us to help them need other employment in November 2010.

Well, these are just a few musings of a former democrat. I hope you will reconsider your policies and recognize that small business not government creates jobs. I also want you to know that my family prays for you everyday.

Sincerely,

Frontporchpatriot
